Biography

Stefan Hayek is Chief Ethics Officer and Senior Director of Commercial Compliance at Fifth Third Bank. In this role, he leads the bank’s ethics function and commercial compliance activities. Hayek has been with Fifth Third Bank for more than a decade and has held a variety of legal, compliance, and risk management positions within the organization. Prior to his current role, he served in a variety of roles including as Associate General Counsel, Capital Markets & Compliance. Earlier in his career, he was an Associate at White & Case LLP and a Visiting Scholar and Research Associate at the University of Notre Dame.

Hayek received his JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School and his BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
