Biography

Bill Walsh is Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at First Citizens Bank. He leads compliance efforts focused on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation and oversees the bank’s compliance program. Walsh previously served as Chief Ethics Officer and led regulatory compliance teams supporting wholesale banking, payments, and commerce solutions. Prior to joining First Citizens Bank, he held several senior compliance leadership roles at Fifth Third Bank including SVP, Chief Ethics Officer and Senior Director of Commercial Compliance. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, a SVP at Bank of America, a Partner at Kennedy Covington, and an attorney at K&L Gates and Womble Carlyle.

Walsh received his JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School and his BA in Political Science/Business from the University of California, Los Angeles.
